Methods The acid hydrolysate was separated by repeated silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, and HPLC chromatographies, and their structures were identified by the analysis of spectral data. Results Seven monomer compounds were isolated from the hydrolyzed products and identified as 20(S)-3-methoxyl-panaxadiol (1), 20(E)-dammarane-20(22)en-3β, 12β, 25- panaxatriol (2), 20(R)-dammarane-3β, 6α, 12β, 20, 25-pentol (3), 20(R)-dammarane-3β, 12β, 20, 25-triol (4), 24(R)-ocotillol (5), 20(S)-panaxadiol (6), and 20(S)-protopanaxadiol (7).
